How I Found a Needle in a Haystack
Who has heard of the law of attraction? Who hasn’t. Who really knows the power of their subconscious mind? Maybe not as many. How many people know of the link between the two? Ever since reading Think and Grow Rich! for the first time, almost 2 years ago, I have been fascinated with the power of my subconscious mind to create my life as I would like. I know this is possible and I’m living it every day. The actual mechanisms for success in this area will be detailed in an upcoming series at this blog (articles and podcasts).
The Experience
On an Easter break to the west coast of Ireland recently, I used this power for something a lot more instantaneous. Even someone like myself, who conditions his subconscious mind every day, couldn’t help but be blown away. The subconscious (and superconscious) are more powerful than you know and are available for use at ALL times, if you can just trust it.
I have used my subconscious mind for investment ideas, for working out, for better relationships, for my health, all with great results. I had never, however, used it to locate a missing item. To be honest, I wouldn’t have even have thought of it until I saw this video on youtube. This guy, Momo, was able to find his beloved ring that he had lost. He said that he then simply asked his mind to guide him to where it was. I used a very similar process to locate €50 that I had lost on Sunday, April 8th 2007. This was 1 x €20 note, and 3 x €10 notes - 4 notes in total. Here’s the story….

Tracy is a lover of all things equestrian. I, on the other hand, couldn’t ride a horse to save my life. Prior to going on our break I said I would go horse-riding with her. To cut a long story short, I chickened out at the last minute and asked if it be okay if she went by herself and I head back to our room (the pic shows the actual horses in question). She said it was fine and so I slipped the €50, to pay for the ride, into the front pocket of her hooded top and said bye. It turns out later the she neither heard me nor felt my hand go into her pocket (she was too excited about getting her equipment ready I think ).
About an hour and a half later Tracy comes back into the room, and after telling me all about how great it was, says, “Do you still have the money there?” to which I replied, “Is this a joke?” It soon dawned on us that there had been a misunderstanding. She checked her pockets and sure enough, the money was gone.
My attitude to it was that it was no-one’s fault and it’s too late now anyway. Tracy was adamant that we should at least have a look for it. I must admit that even being well-versed in the Law of Attraction didn’t make me feel very optimistic about finding it. I said, “It doesn’t matter, forget about it. Maybe someone who needs it more than we do will find it and put it to good use.”
The Search
Well after a few minutes I remembered this video and I thought, “Hey, infinite intelligence/the field (whatever you want to call it) knows where it is. I’ll just ask it for directions”. So we set off walking. Seriously, if anyone had have known what we were doing they would have laughed in hysterics. The size of the area that they had been riding on covered around 30 acres (and that’s a conservative estimate). That’s 30 acres of long grass, bushes, sandy beach, water and tarmac roads. Add to this that it was a very windy day, remember this is the west coast of Ireland. It would be easy to understand why anyone would find it very hard to believe that 4 paper notes could be found in these conditions.
Even so, I started to repeat the following in my mind. “My subconscious mind knows where the €50 is and is guiding me to it”. I said this over and over again with feeling until it was believable to me. We walked around for almost an hour and split up to increase our chances of finding it. We ploughed our way through fields, roads and a beach. Even though the enormity of the area in question was daunting, I kept telling myself that my mind knew where it was and that if it was for the highest good, we would surely find it.
We then started to make our way back up through a field that would start the journey back to the house. I was still repeating the affirmation when Tracy, now standing 1 meter to my right exclaimed, “Oh my God!”, I turned around and there were the 3 x €10 notes together and the €20 note about 30cm to the right. They were just sitting on the grass at Tracy’s feet. I felt really happy, not about the money, but the fact that this seemingly impossible task was nothing of the sort. We were both ecstatic. Tracy later said that it was only when walking through this last field that she ‘let go’ of the money. Up until then she had been consciously trying to find the money herself, and feeling a little bad about losing it. It was only when she emotionally ‘let go’ as I had already done, that the money was found, and with ease!
The Field of Infinite Intelligence
A field of infinite intelligence does exist. It is what all the spiritual teachers throughout the ages have told us. It can be tapped into by anyone, I also talk about it in ‘How to Double Your Brain Power.‘ The critical point though is that it only works to the extent to which you believe in it and trust it. I know that this story won’t have as much impact on you as it did me, but I do hope that it is yet another incentive for you to start believing and to then start seeing. Remember that the, “I’ll believe it when I see it” attitude is backwards, in truth, “You’ll see it when you believe it”.
